Easy to use software - bringing digital image editing within the reach of everyone thanks to:
Intuitive and practical interface: clear palettes, simplified commands, all useful information is displayed and can be modified directly from the Infos palette or from the window

Three informative guides: A User Guide, an Image Editing Guide and a HQP Printing Guide are supplied. Simple, easy to read and full of useful information, these guides have been designed and written in a way that encourages the user to read them and therefore gain maximum use from the software.
Many users of the most popular image programme, with the exception of graphics professionals, that we have spoken to, have no intention of reading the documentation provided as they find it heavy going and complicated.
Unique Virtual Files Management: allowing the software to function with as little as 1.5Mb of available RAM.
In addition, PhotoFix™ can automatically store (see the Preferences .... Memory and Plug-ins .... dialog) all image corrections and modifications.

Recover all work even in the event of a power failure
After having performed some modifications on an image, restart the computer without saving. When the application is relaunched, the software will offer you the option of re-opening your image(s) at the point of shut down.
Open any image in less than 5 seconds after Quit Special
This command can be useful for limited RAM configurations (quitting the application to open another) or for multiple working sessions on large images.
After having tried some modifications to an image, quit the application using the Quit Special ommand without saving. Restart the software. PhotoFix ™will offer you the option of Open Fast. If chosen your image(s) will be opened in less than 5 seconds even if they are very large files.
HQP® High Quality Printing supports all desktop printer technologies. It is compatible with PostScript and Quickdraw, colour and black & white printers (see the HQP Guide for High Quality Printing)
Some Apple PostScript printers do not support HQP dithering. We are working on this problem with Apple engineers.

What is PhotoFix ?

PhotoFix™ is an alternative to Photoshop offering many unique features.
Aims:
Improving or even allowing the conversion from traditional to digital image without the large investment currently necessary. It is inexpensive and operates with all colour Macs, yet gives impressive savings with no loss of time, as it requires no training.
Original Features: PhotoFix™ has two main original features
1). Concept: It is the only complete image treatment package currently available .
Acquisition(Scanning):
Full compatibility with Photoshop type plug ins & setting of Black and white points of the scanner.
Filing and Browsing of Images:
The package comes complete with a fully integrated browser.
PhotoFix™ allows Thematic filing and searching for images using five classifications.
Drawing and Creation:
You can draw, paint and create your artwork with different tools including Pencil, Paintbrush, airbrush, etc. All of which are customisable.
Retouching & Montage:
Brightness, contrast and RGB colour. Automatic or manual adjustment. Cropping, resizing, retouching tools (brushes, eraser, pencil and geometric shapes), descratching (cloning), montage with feathering. Creation and retouching of masks. Intuitive and Productive:
All users, beginners or experienced, can soon fully use and work efficiently using PhotoFix™. The interface has been designed and tested with beginners and tool options and shortcut commands with graphic professionals.
Innovation: PhotoFix™ has four main innovations
Operates even with 1.5 Mb of RAM:
Virtual Memory management has been optimised to a point that it is possible to use the software with a minimum of 1.5 Mb of RAM, whilst optimum performance is achieved with 6MB RAM (which is the minimum requirement of Photoshop 3.0)
Automatic Saving:
In cases of computer crashing, freezing or power failure, PhotoFix™ allows you to recover your work even if you did not save the current changes . Another advantage to this system is that you can quit the image (i.e. because of lack of memory) and then reopen it later in less than 5 seconds for an 18Mb file.
Fast Display :
The displaying technique used by PhotoFix™ takes maximum advantage of the power of your Macintosh. Images are displayed, enlarged and reduced with incredible speed. In some cases a multiple resolution display is used to reduce the time wasted waiting for a screen image to rebuild, thereby enabling editing to continue.
HQP®(High Quality Printing):
This is a process that allows most low and mid range office laser printers to produce near photographic quality output.
Printer Setting:
The software identifies the selected printer or you can enter it’s characteristics manually. When printing, HQP® applies the best dithering (algorithm) technique for the chosen device.
Printer Calibration:
Allows a one stroke calibration of the printers dot size, depending on the ink and paper used.
Automatic Correction:
Every image to be printed is analysed by the software which automatically corrects any brightness, contrast and dominant colour weakness.
Print Variance:
Allows you to print a page with 7-19 variants of your image, and then quickly identify the best correction values for optimum print quality.
